More Figures to keep me going

Well I should have taken Drawing with Light and Tone so I could get the longer poses in there, (the results would be a lot prettier) but it conflicted with another class I'm taking so this one will just have to do. And besides, what if its really just the same class only with more time, longer poses? What if I could get the shading in there with less time by just being proficient. Its really about keeping my drawing muscles warmed up so that they don't atrophy while I write the script. I would hate to finish the script for the comic book and realize I've forgotten how to draw, (or never knew how in the first place lol) and have what should be a really serious gritty crime drama end up being funny because the drawings are wack. Hence my tireless figure drawing.

Oh and Karl says the whole point is to get good enough that you can draw from your head so um...F*ck yea! Bring on the damn comics.

Nosfurratu Cycle Test

So I've been working on an Animated short for the past 6 months or so called Nosfurratu (the vampire chihuahua). Right now I have a shot where the main characters are wilin out on a scooter and so I need to animate their hair flapping in the wind. I made this little test to see if this 8 frame cycle would work. Kinda chaotic but it gets the job done. Now all I have to do is apply it to the actual shot.

First figures of the new year

Back in LA and drawing at the Guild again. We had G modeling for us, who in the past I've found very challenging to draw. I will say its getting easier though!

NYC Subway Series

No, its not the Yankees vs the Mets. Actually, I spilled thai curry on a tiny accordion style sketchbook, left it out to dry a while, and kind of forgot about it. Later on when I was frantically searching for a sketchbook to take home with me to NY, I decided to just roll with thai curry sketchbook. I decided to sketch people on the trains and then color it in with ink so that anyone just looking at it would be none the wiser. Points to anyone who can spot the smoking rat.

Oh, and I'm fairly certain the woman reading the newspaper was a tranny. I <3 NY.

Home for the Holidays

Just a couple of photos I snapped while hanging out with some friends on the lower east side. Extra points to anyone who can spot Steve Jobs..
